I went to theatre school as a child and read English and Drama at Uni, so acting was my first career choice.

 

When I started directing in the theatre and then in television drama, I took with me all my experience and understanding of acting and actors. It forms the cornerstone of my directing work.

 

I’ve had the wonderful good fortune of working with some amazing actors, both here and in L.A. – many of whom have remained friends.

I start with the story, then find the actors best able to be that story and then - make it visual.  It’s a process of creative collaboration and mutual respect – with everyone.

 

And, for me, it doesn’t really get better than that…
